  • Christs Object Lessons

    $31.89

In the devotional classic, Ellen G. White plumbs the depths of the best-loved teachings of Jesus, offering a deeply spiritual understanding of the parables o f Christ as they apply to the life today.

Writing not as a dry historical scholar or technical commentator, but as a messenger pleading the case of the Lord she loves, the author provides practical applications in a way that touches the heart. Those who attempt to underline the choicest passages often give up after finding entire pages underlined.

In the pages of this book generations of readers have heard the same voice that spoke the parables so long ago still speaking to their heart, saying “Come to Me.”

  • Jose : God Found Me In LA

    $21.59

Not promising. That would sum up the childhood of Jose Rojas.

Born into an abusive home, Jose grew to fear his father’s drunken rampages. “Mama, what’s wrong with me? Why do I make you and Dad fight so much?”

Then things got worse. In school the other kids laughed at his accent, tormented him, called him “skunk” and “dirty Mexican.”

His mom called him “my dreamer.”

Then the Rojas family stumbled onto some followers of an ancient Jewish carpenter. Several of them saw something extraordinary in Jose, this young would-be upholsterer. They mentored him. Believed in him. Encouraged him . . . and prayed with him.

Jose overcame failing grades, fanaticism, and institutional inertia to develop a life-changing youth outreach based on love and prayer. Follow him through a street ministry in Fresno, where he becomes the target of a gang who trash his house, to meetings with the president of the United States. Today his preaching is in worldwide demand, and he serves a as mentor to others.

And his dad has become a loving, spiritual presence in the family.

  • Gladys Aylward : The Small Woman With A Great God (DVD)

    $20.99

Gladys Aylward (1902-1970) may have been small in stature at barely five feet tall, but she was a giant of conviction! Even Hollywood was amazed by her story and made a movie about it, entitled The Inn of the Sixth Happiness.

This fascinating documentary presents the events of Gladys’ life, chronicled by Carol Purves, author of Chinese Whispers: The Gladys Aylward Story and accompanied by photographs, illustrations, and recordings of Gladys’ own voice.

Young Gladys sensed a calling from God to leave London and go to minister in China. She worked as a parlormaid for many years until she had enough money saved for her passage. In 1930, she boarded a train and after many weeks and harrowing situations, she finally reached her destination.

In China she assisted aging missionary Jeannie Lawson. Together they opened an inn for mule drivers and told them stories about Jesus. After Mrs. Lawson died, Gladys began to take in unwanted children, eventually numbering about 100. With Japan invading China full force, Gladys and the 100 children traveled for days on foot across the mountains to safety. Gladys continued her work with children until her death in 1970.

See how this ordinary woman experienced the extraordinary, simply because she said “yes” to God.
