  • 1000 Shall Fall

    $23.79

The electrifying story of an Adventist family who dared to practice their faith in Hitler’s Germany.

They saw God work miracle after miracle to save them from certain disaster. As thousands around them fell victim to the horrors of war, they were borne up on angels’ wings-sometimes quite literally. This is the true story of one family who chose to be faithful whatever the cost, and found refuge in the shadow of the Almighty.

    From the Back Cover . . .

The lieutenant’s face turned beet-red. “You must be mad, private!” he bellowed. “This is the German Army! This battalion’s going to war, and you want Saturday off?” Under his breath he spat out, “It’s just my luck to be saddled with a religious nut!”

Franz Hasel, a 40-year-old pacifist, was drafted and assigned to Pioneer Company 699, Hitler’s elite troops who built bridges at the front lines. His religious scruples did not endear him to his superiors. Sarcastically dubbed “carrot eater” and “Bible reader, ” he finally gained the respect of his unit.

Just before he was sent deep into Russia-where all but seven of his 1,200-man unit would die- he secretly discarded his gun, fearing that, as the company sharpshooter, he might be tempted to kill. In Russia he faced a new problem: how to warn the local Jews before the SS got to them.

Meanwhile, back at home, Franz’s wife, Helene, and their four children were fighting their own battles. Pressured to join the Nazi Party, she announced, “I belong to the party of Jesus Christ.”

“Tomorrow night your children will be taken from you unless you join the party,” Herr Doering screamed. And she had another secret. One day the Gestapo knocked on her door. “Are you hiding a Jew” they demanded. Their chances of survival? Dim. Their only ally? God.

In a few short years they lived several lifetimes of danger. As thousands around them fell victim to the horrors of war, they were borne up on angels’ wings-sometimes quite literally. This is the true, soul-soaring story of one desperate family who chose to be faithful whatever the cost, and found refuge in the shadow of the Almighty.

The youngest daughter of Franz Hasel, Susi Hasel Mundy has taught German and behavioral science, and spent 10 years in private practice as a licensed marriage, family, and child therapist. Currently she is the registrar at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California.

Why has Jesus not returned before now? How and when will Satan impersonate Christ? What signs will attend the shaking, loud dry, latter rain, time of trouble, and close of probation? What prophecies have yet to be fulfilled? What about miracles in the last days?

Scripture predicts that the world will end neither with a bang nor a whimper, but with the glorious revelation of its Creator. In these pages God calls us to prepare for the final crisis by living consecrated lives that reflect His coming triumph over evil.

  • Ellen White : Woman Of Vision

    $28.99

Ellen G. White (1827-1915) is a widely translated American author–her works have been published in more than 140 languages. Though her formal education ended at the age of 9, her literary productions totaled approximately 100,000 pages on such topics as health, education, family, Bible history, and practical Christian living. Today millions look to her writings for guidance and motivation.
During her lifetime she experienced more than 2,000 dreams and visions. These provided a rich source of divine wisdom from which she drew for her extensive writings. As God’s servant she wrote letters of encouragement, counsel, and reproof to church members and leaders around the world, in many cases dealing with secret, personal matters.

An accident in her youth resulted in years of frail health, yet in addition to her writing she managed to run a home that often resembled a hotel while raising three sons and coping with the emotional difficulties of her husband after he suffered a series of strokes. In her later years she helped lead the Seventh-day Adventist Church into a deeper understanding of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity. Her lifelong message was that Christ is coming soon and that we must be ready to meet Him. The last sentence she ever uttered before the church’s world assembly, as she raised a Bible above the pulpit, was, ”Brethren and sisters, I commend unto you this Book.”

  • Shades Of Grace

    $23.79

    Surprised by grace . . . again.

It has been said, “The genius of a good book is that it explains a familiar subject with unfamiliar newness.” Such is the case with this book. The incredibly vital topic of divine grace is opened here, layer after layer, until one feels as though a whole new dimension of thought and feeling has flooded into the soul. Like the multi-hued richness of the color spectrum, there are various Shades of Grace which compose the beautiful character of God. To say, “Grace is unmerited favor,” and then move on as if understanding had been achieved, would be like merely saying of space, “It’s big.” True, but so very lacking in real meaning.

Grace is unmerited favor, and so much more, as you are about to discover. Find a quiet place and join the author, Ty Gibson, for an empowering series of intimate penetrations into the mind and emotions of God. And be prepared to be surprised by grace . . . again.

The God of the Bible is still in the miracle business. These thrilling reports from around the world show that He still reveals His power and care today.

You will read of dollar bills that multiplied. A prayer written on a kite. Prison doors that opened. A self-healing radiator, and a self-filling gas tank. Rain that fell only on mission property. A book that refused to burn. A clock that struck 13. Manna from heaven–in Africa. A gentle ride inside a tornado. Invisible hands that lift a car. And lots of mysterious strangers, sometimes visible only to some and not others. But always protecting, guiding, saving.

If you wonder whether God still cares, or if your faith needs a shot in the arm, you will cherish these believe-it-or-not true stories from Borneo to Kalamazoo to Venezuela that show that, when we need Him most, God is there.

Hard to believe, but here it is: Christmas in My Heart, book9. They keep coming because so many readers like you find it inconceivable to enter another Christmas season without a new Christmas in My Heart transfusion.

Oh, ’tis true that the now “old” collections are still treasured, are reread again and again, becoming in a very special way Christmas velveteen rabbits, all the dearer for their dog-eared coves and creased pages. Yet at the same time that the first eight collections are returned to, there is an innate need to expand the core collection, to greet with delight new writers with fresh approaches and, even more significant, to listen once again to writers now believed to us-each additional story by such a writer but deepens the bond, that voice that can never be stilled as long as we refuse to let it die.

That is the magic of Christmas in My Heart!

  • Counsels On Diet And Foods

    $31.89

    Guidelines on a Healthy Diet

Decades before many physiologists were concerned with the close relationship between diet and health, Ellen G. White in her writings clearly pointed out the connection between the food we eat and our physical and spiritual welfare. In her discourses and writings from 1863 onward, she discussed frequently the importance of diet and adequate nutrition.

Her counsels, as preserved in pamphlets and books, in the journals of the denomination, and in personal testimonies, have exerted a strong influence on the dietetic habits of Seventh-day Adventists, and indirectly have left their impress upon the general public.

In assembling the materials comprising Counsels on Diet and Foods, an effort was made to include the full range of instruction on the subject from Mrs. White’s pen. The resulting compilation is unique for it presents the counsels clustered topically under a general heading, with no attempt to provide a continuity in reading
